How It Works
On Missions with Lon and Ruth
The work is completed through International Commission. IC has been conducting foreign missions for over 40 years.
About 25-30 works are completed each year in all areas of the world. Here, at IC we specialize in Church to Church evangelistic foreign missions. Working through existing churches in the foreign countries helps us know where to go and those needing our witness. The local church will also provide discipleship training for those saved during the work.
IC takes care of all the details of the missions work, including Pre planning- both here and abroad, travel, food, water, lodging, interpreters, training, witnessing tools, etc. Your responsibilities include making a commitment to serve the Lord as commanded, complete application documents, obtain passport, take medication or vaccinations as required for country of interest, set a side time 10-13 days, and raise funds. All of these are with the Lord's help. We also have projects in which we work with our missionaries already in the field who direct our evangelistic witnessing.
The work is conducted in and through existing churches in the foreign country; we work with the Church pastor/leaders and congregation volunteers in presenting the good news of Jesus and his saving power to their family, neighbors, friends, and community. We do this through preaching, teaching, house visitation, street evangelism, schools, prisons, etc. All witnessing as safety allows.
Our Missions Volunteers are made up of Christian directors of missions, pastors, and lay persons called to serve the Lord in foreign lands. If you are 18 or 16 with a parent/guardian or older you can go. Since we specialize in evangelistic works you do not have to worry as much about physical limitations. If you can get your bags through an airport and know your testimony, you can go and see many come to know the Lord. We have several persons who have gone on over 30/40/50 of our works. Many serve up into their 80’s/90’s.
The Results are always great and some times out of this world. On average, our multiwork volunteers see an average of over 50 people come to the Lord per work. It is awesome to see the Power of God working as hundreds and on many thousands come to the Lord. Come and be apart on these dynamic Missions Volunteer works.
